Many businesses fail to draw attention of prospective buyers no matter how many trade shows or sales pitches they divulge in. the reason this is true is that many people do not want to stand around and listen to what you have to say about your product or service. Even if these people came to the event for that purpose they do not have the time to stand around at the various booths to listen to the sale persons sales pitch. You may even draw their attention because you have a nice looking display, an attention-grabbing product, or a sexy girl at your booth, but none of these items is going to be on their minds when they leave the event. Even brochures are often tossed aside once they are back in their motel rooms or at home.

 

So, what will get their attention and have them remember you or at least your company once you are no longer “in their face”? Promotional gifts are your key. However, you may not know what type of promotional gift will be perfect for your prospective buyers. In order to choose the best gift you must know a little bit about your potential customers and what type of product will get them to listen to your sales pitch. To help you learn a bit more answer these questions, of course, at a trade show this might not help us much. These answers will help you for such tactics as planned sales pitches where you have invited potential customers that need the same products or service.

 

The first question to ask yourself, does the potential buyer have an interest in your company such as shareholders? If they do, then they are not going to be too interested in things that let them know about the company. You may wish to give promotional products that are more interesting to their lifestyles such as golf products, appliances, or even computer accessories.

 

What products or services are the potential buyer is interested in? If you know this answer, then you can focus the promotional product around this item.

 

According to your product or service, you should look at how much money the potential buyer will be spending. If they will be spending thousands of dollars on your product or service then giving them a promotional pen or mouse pad is certainly out of the question. According to the amount of money they will be spending, you should give them a promotional gift according. An example, if they are going to spend thousands of dollars then give a gift such as a golf bag, a cappuccino maker, or other higher priced item, of course with your company name and logo imprinted.

 

Other ways to use promotional gifts to entice buyers is through your website. You can offer small promotional products for signing up for your newsletter, give a small token of appreciation to each person that places their first order, give a free promotional gift when customers order $100, a free gift with each order, and offer a free gift for those that refer friends. The items do not have to be expensive but will of course bring the customers back and you will make more in the long run especially if you use promotional items such as mugs, hat, t-shirts, etc… that can be purchased at inexpensive prices. Save the larger priced promotional products for loyal customers that place large orders.

 

Potential buyers will remember your company each and every time they use this promotional gift and will be calling or visiting your website over and over again. Spending a few bucks on promotional gifts can reap you thousands in rewards.
